Stepping into their 8th year, Azure Restaurant Slash Bar created a special 4-course set dinner to celebrate the event. The menu is designed to be refreshing to offset the crazy heat and disgusting humidity of Hong Kong's Summer. The menu is available daily from 1st August until 30 September 2014, priced at HKD588+10% per person. Mixologists at Azure also created eight refreshing Absolut cocktails, at a great price of HKD88! The first course is a citrus marinated Hokkaido scallop served in a chilled tomato tea. The scallop was huge in size and sweet in taste. I also love the contrast citrusy notes on the scallop. I however would not have guessed the scallop is from Hokkaido as its texture was not as smooth. The tomato tea was also a bit too weak to give any taste. Big Apple
Second course was a hot apple soup made with fresh celery, green apple and sliced radish. I have never had apply soup in my life. The soup was creamier than I thought, quite acidic but refreshing with strong apple and celery note. Not my kind of soup though. Road 66
I loved my beautiful main which was US Tenderloin served with linguine tree, roasted endives and green pepper jus. The dish was excellent in all aspects, from presentation, flavour and texture. The US tenderloin was succulent and meaty. The roasted tomato bursted with sweet juice. The linguine tree gave a delightful crispiness to the dish. THE perfect dish. Norwegian Sea
HF got the salmon main which was sous-vided and paired with ink rice cracker, lemon fel, shisho and plum jus. I did not like salmon too much so I only took a bit. The salmon tasted alright, quite smooth but nothing exciting. Green Pleasure
The Green Pleasure is J's dish. A healthy choice for the main with quinoa, roasted vegetables, radish, walnuts and greek yoghurt. Bubbles Time
Bubbles = Champagne! Azure infused Champagne into the chocolate granache of the huge strawberry macaron. The macaron was unfortunately a tad dry in texture. The glass holding strawberry bubbles, syrup and fresh strawberries was fantastic though! As I was typing the review, I was dreaming of my beef main. It was truly a lovely dish. As said, the menu only last until the end of September, so if you are interested, go ahead and book your seat asap!
