Their "Food God BBQ Pork Rice" has always been famous, with juicy BBQ and fried egg. Recent years, the quality has dropped with the BBQ pork becoming more dried, but nothing compared to the unacceptable quality tonight.I have had their "Food God BBQ Pork Rice" for many years so I know what it looks like. I have had their "Food God BBQ Pork Rice" for many years so I know what it looks like. Tonight I ordered take away and when I reached home and opened the box I was so insulted. It had 6 pieces of BBQ pork, dried (not the famous juicy ones), thinly cut, and each about the size of a $5 coin. This cost $45 ! I could have gotten a much better BBQ Pork rice box at any fast food place and at a much lower price. I came back and returned the box for a refund, and the staff acknowledged the small size of the BBQ Pork.
King's Palace is a high-end wonton noodle shop charging higher price, and this means they are being held at a higher standard (if it is a Dai Pai Dong charging $25 I would not have complained). The quality of the BBQ Pork, their chef's ridiculous preparation, and the failure of their staff to do last step quality check during the packing stage (they have to pour sauce in the rice box so they could have seen it and said something), means this place is no longer living up to its reputation and absolutely not worth the high price.
