Patisserie Uriwari is one of my favorite online cake shops. I've ordered cakes from them before and I'm such a fan. Originally only found online, they now have a sit down cafe to devour their creations.Located in Life@KCC, a new building near Kwai Hing MTR, the shop is very small. Menu is in Chinese only. There is no 10% service charge but they require each person to order one item, be it food or drink. You also pay immediately after you order. But at the cafe, they have two items that are not available on their usual online cake ordering counter.
One is the parfait for $78.
There is also a medley of matcha set for $88. That was what I wanted!
Actual item looked like this. What you get is a matcha roll cake with whipped cream and tiny bit of matcha cream in the center, a chocolate ball that coated a matcha truffle and dusted with matcha powder, a sesame biscuit with a cup of matcha condensed milk for dipping, a wafer biscuit shaped like a bear with a spread of chestnut and matcha pate, a matcha crepe filled with matcha cream and finally a bowl of matcha pudding topped with mochi, azuki bean, slice of orange and drizzled with brown sugar syrup. Each item was fabulous and so pretty to look at. The cake was so soft and fluffy. Simply delicious.
As there is a minimum one order per person, boyfriend and I opted to not order a drink and have another cake. We chose this lemon tart ($36). It was so cute! Look at the ladybird! That was made of chocolate but oh wow ... so cute! The crust was soft and flakey. The lemon curd was sharp with lemon but not too sour. This place makes the best cakes!
One of the best cakes shops in Hong Kong. Definitely the best Japanese style ones in Hong Kong, in my opinion. Wonderful they now have a cafe and if in the area, will definitely give them a visit!
