It is a beautiful day in Hong Kong today - one of the few days where you can see a blue sky! My bf and i arrived at cafe costa at around 6pm when the day was still quite bright. We were sat at the outdoor terrace under an umbrella. It had a great view of Kowloon and the harbour. It almost reminds me of the San Francisco pier!We ordered a iberico ham + melon, 1 chicken Caesar salad and 1 pan seared salmon, together with 2 glasses of wine. We ordered a iberico ham + melon, 1 chicken Caesar salad and 1 pan seared salmon, together with 2 glasses of wine. The salad was surprisingly good - right amount of dressing, and very tender chicken. The ham was however sliced too thin and the melon not sweet enough. The salmon was good - slight over cooked for my liking ( I ordered medium rare) but it was seasoned perfectly and the green pea sauce base and little calamaris on the side went very well with the fish. I almost finished the sauce with bread
We enjoys our dinner very slowly, enjoying the sunset watching the sky turned from bright blue to dark blue, and the clouds from white to orange and finally dark purple. By 8pm, we were the only ones in the restaurant, while I could see isola next door crowded and blasting with music. I really don't understand why cafe costa has no guests on a Saturday night. Its location hidden in the lane Crawford cosmetics section might have caused it to stay out of people's radar. Actually, it has a better view than isola since the pier construction is right outside of isola's store. service was good tonight - little interruption, quick service. I guess we are the only ones to be served haha...
I will definitely come back again, esp if the weather is nice. Where else can you find such a chillax place in Hong Kong?
