This Berry Lavender Gateau was so pretty. It was such a lovely cake to celebrate our anniversary !I was surprised that there were so many layers: lavender powder on top, followed by vanilla mousse, lavender mousse, vanilla mouse, berry sponge cake and then chocolate cookie base. The mousse was very smooth. But there was no lavender flavour. Rather it was mint, which was not really my cup of tea, although my family said they could taste lavender. The chocolate cookie base was so thick and crunchy

I was surprised that there were so many layers: lavender powder on top, followed by vanilla mousse, lavender mousse, vanilla mouse, berry sponge cake and then chocolate cookie base. The mousse was very smooth. But there was no lavender flavour. Rather it was mint, which was not really my cup of tea, although my family said they could taste lavender. The chocolate cookie base was so thick and crunchy, which I really liked. I also liked how the smooth and moist mousse balanced the crunchy and dry chocolate cookie base as a whole. However, it was a bit too sweet overall.
Portion was so big because it looked like it was much heavier than just 1 pound.
Overall, I would say it was a pretty good cake. Happy 14th Anniversary
