American Food?
No.

Once located in another area of Tai Hang, it's has since moved to a newer location. Boyfriend and I have been frequent visitors of this place for quite some time now and have always loved everything that's been put forth. I just didn't write about it until now. Because hey ... good things should be kept secret, right?
The newer location is much smaller than the old one. Seating inside is very cramped. Though they do have outdoor seating that is available in the alley behind their restaurant. Boyfriend and I had arranged a birthday party once for a friend and they let all 30 of us take over the entire back alley. Service was top notch and very accomodating even if they started to run out of plates.
As we hadn't come in a while, boyfriend and his friend and his girlfriend and I decided to come here for dinner on this night.
Menu is in Chinese but they do have an English menu upon request. They have some items that need to be preordred as it takes time to prepare.
Lime Soda. Ordered a lime soda and it came in a simple mug of ice, limes and Thai soda water. Simple. Perfect. Refreshing. Shanghai Vegetarian Wontons. This is handmade by the owner's elderly mother daily. Seriously, excellent. Skin is thin. Filling is packed with vegetables and pork in the right proportion. Soup was not too salty and very sweet. Grilled Pork Neck. Nicely grilled to maintain it's juiciness. The sauce was a mix of sour and spicy. Thai Pork Floss Fried Rice. This was a smaller portion than in the past when we've ordered this. Though the rice was sweet and not oily. There was a lot of diced pork meat in the rice. Garlic Bread. This is always my favorite thing when I come here. The garlic bread is amazing. It's toasted perfectly. It's crispy and fluffy at the same time. It's generously slathered in garlic butter. These are heaven. Clams in Curry Sauce. The last few times we ordered this, the clams were larger. I think the owner could only get the smaller ones this time. But the curry sauce is the winner. It's a nice blend of coconut and curry spices. All mixed with the sweetness of the clam juices. This is always a favorite. Thai Fish Cake. Fish cakes were not oily with a crispy skin. Fish meat did not taste floury like most other places. The sauce was just a simple sweet and sour sauce. Chicken Satay. This was incredible. The chicken was moist. The satay sauce was the best with lovely chunks of peanuts in it. Pad Thai. This was really spicy that night. We've ordered it before, but it was never this spicy. It was so spicy, only boyfriend ended up eating the rest as he's the only one who could eat spicy. We wanted to order a hotdog, too but they had just run out but they offered us tong yuen as the elderly mother had just finished making them. But we were full so we called it a night.
Super effecient. Good service. Cheap prices. This all came out to $480! We always return when we have that cravin again.
