As of all the sushi places I've tried, Kokoro is definitely one of best, if not the best. I don't say this often, but it is true. After literally roaming around Mong Kok for the better half of the night, trying to find an affordable place to eat sushi, I can tell you it is not easy to find seats. Especially since it was an anniversary celebration, I felt that treating ourselves to a delicious Japanese meal is appropriate. Firstly, Kokoro's whole interior design is stunning and has a very authentic Japanese feel to it. It's also quite a new restaurant, so it's not too popular or crowded at the moment. Their staff is also very helpful and friendly! Even their cutlery are delicately placed and looks high class.
Though the interior decor is indeed very high class, the price of its food is very decent! This is just a selection of the menu as there are actually many other pages to it. As there are so many choices, we took a while to finally settle on a few.
We ordered the fatty tuna roll, which was really good. The tuna was quite plentiful and the spring onions were very fragrant. The tuna was soft and well minced and didn't have any "chewiness" or tendons in it. Secondly, we ordered a few types of sushi. Including hamachi, salmon, salmon roe, scallop and flying fish roe sushi. My favourite was the salmon roe as the roes were huge, full and crunchy. Next, we had the egg omelette which was another great dish as it was very sweet and eggy. The omelette was also very thick and had sufficient amount of texture and bite to it. The egg omelette is also infused with Yuzu which is quite special. Lastly, we had the Sake Clams, which was one of my favourites as the sake taste wasn't too bitter, yet sweet as it was mixed with the flavours of the clams. The clams were also big and juicy and didn't have sand in it too!
