Genki Sushi is a place I sometimes frequent. And now that they have renovated some of their shops to have their food served on a train, I find myself here more often as the quality has increased somewhat.On this day, I decided to order something off their tea set menu. It was fairly inexensive. $50 for a few pieces of sushi and a bowl of udon. On this day, I decided to order something off their tea set menu. It was fairly inexensive. $50 for a few pieces of sushi and a bowl of udon. I ordered it by the touch pad at the seat and the food arrived by the little train.
You get one salmon, one steamed whelk, one squid sushi and three pieces of tuna roll with spring onion. I've been to this place before and when I order a la carte, it actually looks less haphazardly placed together. I also noticed the tuna roll was a bit smaller in size as well as I've ordered it before. However, the seafood was fresh tasting so that was ok.
You also get one bowl of udon with cheese and bacon. This was not something I would have thought to order but you can't change it on the tea set. It wasn't that good. The cheese was weirdly wet but it did taste like cheese. There was a fare amount of bacon added as well. But overall, not that great.
The sets were cheap but I think ordering a la carte gives you better flexibility. It also appeared the food was served a bit better. Or maybe they were busy that day and didn't seem to care? Overall, I would be back but not do the tea sets any longer.
