Visiting Kowloon walled city and out looking for Thai food. The place we wanted to go was temporarily closed so we went a few doors down to this place. Here's some thoughts:This isn't all the salad, just what I managed to get on my plate. The papaya salad was fine, but I didn't feel like it had much to it. Not spicy at all, just OK. CI like prawn cakes and they're a safe bet in that they rarely go wrong. These were maybe less crispy than they could have been, but they were nice and meaty. BIt's

It's tough to tell from the photo, but there was not alot of this curry. But the reason I've marked it as "not recommended" is that the beef used was of terrible quality. Every single piece I got was terribly chewy, and the other diners confirmed this experience. The sauce was OK. D

We had vegetarians so we had to get the vegetable curry. It was very eggy. Strangely enough, it was strongly flavored with curry powder (and not a Thai variety of curry powder). I think the texture was a little bit unappetizing, but it is tough to go too badly wrong with curry powder (provided you don't overdo it). The vegetables were nicely cooked, not too mushy but not crunchy. C+

There must be some translation error, because the menu let you pick "roti or garlic" with the veggie curry. Anyway, we went with roti-- again, not all that authentic. Still, it was greasy and crispy. I rather liked it. B+

The oyster omelet seemed like a house specialty, and lots of other tables were ordering it. It came out sizzling and had a much higher oyster-to-egg ratio than the Chinese versions. Could've used some sriracha! A-

My favorite Thai dish is pad kee mao, drunkard's noodles (go figure!). I try to order whatever on the menu sounds most like it. This was "hot basil and stir-fried rice noodles with pork." One of the things I especially love about pad kee mao is the tons of Thai basil in it. Now, please have a closer look at my photo.

Maybe look at it up close in my bowl. Do you see that? Yeah, no basil. Anywhere. It looks like there might be some in the first photo, but I never found any. The noodles were bland, and overcooked, and overly salty. No spice to them. The pork was ground pork, which I don't find texture-appropriate with rice noodles. Completely disappointing. D

There's lots of Thai places around and I wouldn't come back to this one. It's not terrible, but there's not really much in the way of good food here. Low quality ingredients, low flavor levels, low spice. C-
