I was attending a meeting near Amoy Plaza at Kowloon Bay today in the morning. When the meeting has ended, it was already lunch time. It just walked around nearby and i decided to walk to On Kay shopping centre, which was just ahead. When i saw there was a Vietnamese restaurant and thinking that it has been awhile since i last ate, I decided to walk in. Their lunch menu was from 12pm to 2pm and the selection was very comprehensive. They offered pho, bun and rice etc. The lunch set came with a drink as well. As for their tea set, it was available from 2pm to 6pm and banh mi was only available during tea set.
Bun - I was always a big fan of their bun, which is cold vermicelli. It was considered healthy to me and it came with pork chop, chicken wings and ham in it. There were sliced carrot and cucumber as well. Chilli sauce and thai sour sauce were provided at the side for me to mix with. The serving was very huge, with lots of vermicelli in it. It was smooth and chewy, with the sauce enhancing the taste. Pork chop and chicken wings were fried till crispy and soft.
Banh Mi - It came with an inflated baguette, way bigger than the usual. There were also a lot of sliced carrots at the top with some meat at the bottom. It will be better if the proportion of it was vice versa. Baguette was toasted till crispy at the edges and it goes well with the ingredients.
Pomegranate ice - It came in milk shaved ice with generous servings of pomegranate at the bottom. It was chewy and sweet, and the ice was shaved till very fine. It was perfect in this type of hot weather.
