Last night, all 5 of us had dinner at La Tasca for celebrating birthday of a girl. The restaurant offered drink at lower price for happy hour ie before 9pm. So 2 of us ordered 1 regular and 1 medium German beer. The restaurant played music aloud. Well, it should be normal in pub. But it\'s a bit noisy for dinner. Anyway, we ordered the followings aella for 2 x 1 salad (with anchovy, sardine, vegetables, olive, salami) x 1 prawn in garlic x 1 regular = 6-7 pcs prawnsmeatball in tomato sauce x 1 r

paella for 2 x 1
salad (with anchovy, sardine, vegetables, olive, salami) x 1

meatball in tomato sauce x 1 regular = 5 pcs meatball
vegetable soup x 1
tomato soup x 1
I found 3 things most impressive : paella, salad and tomato soup.
Paella was made beautifully with prawns, mussels, squid, etc on top of rice. The rice was neither too dry nor too wet for us. The smell/taste was great with tomato sauce. Generally speaking, the taste and ingredients chosen were much better than El Cid\'s. The portion was large enough for 3-4 persons given we ordered some other dishes as well.
The salad was just wonderful with fresh ingredients. I think salad would taste good as long as ingredients are fresh. Anchovy was a bit salty to us, though. On the whole, it\'s worth a try.
To our surprise, tomato soup was tasty and \'solid\' enough with some other ingredients eg peas. The taste was just rich.
Excluding a birthday cake for birthday girl, the bill came to $488. I think the price\'s reasonable.
You can choose and play any song available in juke box. Forgot how much per play. I think if they can play Spanish music occasionally, it would be great.
P.S. Some marks are deducted for washroom which did not have any toilet roll inside. Not considerate enough.
