My friend and I have wanted to visit Shady Acres for so long, and we finally got to visit it on a Sunday, when Shady Acres opens early for brunch.We were greeted by this cute dog named Chewy.And my attention was on this cutie throughout the meal.  Okay, back to the booze and brunch. We ordered ourselves a glass of Retrograde Lemonade each to start with. It’s a vodka based drink with apple juice, crushed ginger, elderflower, dry vermouth and lemon (together with childhood nostalgia as listed on the menu; and the glass surely did the magic). It’s a very refreshing summer drink, perfect for someone like me who can’t take too much strong alcohol.

 We ordered two small plates to share for brunch. First one was this Spicy Fried Chicken Tenders with slaw and pickles. The chicken wasn’t very spicy, but it’s finger licking good. The dip was superb! I didn’t touch the slaw and pickles, as I am never a veggie person so I would save some tummy space for more food.

 It was not until both dishes were served that we realized all the food we got were quite junky. But who cares, it’s Sunday! And they were perfect with the drinks.

These freshly fried Duck Fat Fries were so delicious! Thick cut fries always get my heart! The Black Garlic Aioli dip was amazing too! It actually made eating the fries unstoppable!

Highly recommend this dog-friendly restaurant to you if you want to enjoy a good meal with your furry friend.
