Every Saturday or Sunday I come here for brunch, because the food is delicious and the set prices are very reasonable. The downside of eating at Hokkaido is the regular queuing time of 10mins (customers have to go inside and get a number from the waitress inside), which can be especially torturous in warm weather and when the adjacent mini-bus stand is full of mini-buses with their engines on. Moreover, the tables are cramped, and if you're a party of two, you'll likely be sharing your table w
If you don't mind the waiting time, cramped conditions and regular blunt, spaced-out waitresses, then this is the place to get your breakfast/brunch/lunch, especially after a night of drinking. The important thing is the food, and generally, after having come here over 10 times in 2010, and one time in 2011, the food quality is very good. My only critique is that at times the food can be a little salty - but for a set meal under $40, it's a great deal! You can also pay by Octopus which is always helpful.
Here is a look at their sets: Hokkaido offers nice, fluffy pre-buttered toast , and the scrambled eggs are tasty too ! If you don't want toast, you can ask the waitress to give you waffles instead. The BBQ Pork usually tastes good, and you can ask for spaghetti or macaroni in soup.
