One of the biggest joy about exploration is how one encounters something by accident and finds it so cool, leaving a memorable page.Without a plan of where to eat, I walked around in Ho Man Tin. Eventually, I bumped into a shop featuring Burma dishes. Where is Burma? Just some geographical information, it it something in the middle-east near Kam Po Chai. One common culinary feature among these groups is the usage of acidic and spiced broth in their cooking.Despite the small size, the one-page me
For main dishes, noodles in fish broth and riches served with stewed dishes are offered by the shop. Also, there are options of salad (with tea leaf!!), soup and drinks, too!! At the first glance, I was motivated to order the Mohinga signature fish noodles, because I went to Macau to try this dish but failed to visit the shop in working days
Now, I was compensated to try this here in Ho Man Tin! You might wonder what's so special about the noodles?? Haha, the most special thing about it is that cat fish stock and turmeric are the key ingredients of making this noodle dish. So, now I was able to see why people are fond of trying this fish noodles in Macau (there's a shop famous for this and people are keen to pay a visit there).

Before introducing this, I ordered an iced Burmese milk tea ($15). I'm just curious about its taste! Wondering how their milk tea will be differing from ours; interestingly, it did taste slightly different from our tea--much bitter and have the body in it. That bitterness cannot be washed by the condensed milk (so it already tastes sweeter and milky), however, I find it much bitter than I expected >_< it tells me how their culinary culture is dissimilar--not so much sugary, but spiced not in terms of the heat but flavour.

After a while, the fish noodles arrived ($46). It looked exactly the same as the photo. Yellow broth with different condiment on top of the vermicelli. There was a small chick pea cracker on top, some dried bean curd, fish cake slices and chilli powder--it certainly looked quite Indian food to me at the first glance!!! So, what about the taste!

For the condiments, I like the crispy chick pea cracker very much!! Each pea is glued together with flour batter, then fried in hot oil. Each pea, thus, has an extra crispiness and it was very delicious!
What was disappointed though was the noodles. Overcooked and a bit starchy, which affects the overall texture of the dish.
Drinking the milk tea and eating the noodles together, I did not feel thirsty or spicy in my throat!!! The owner also put on a happy smile and asked if the food was yummy Although the number of seat was limited, it was not so full during the early evening.
