Long time no business lunch in Central. This time we had a business lunch gathering in Liberty given its location. Their lunch menu offered quite a lot of choices ranging from $218+10% to $278+10% depending on your choice of mains for most of the items. Before our orders arrived, a basket of bread was served to us. Please excuse me for not having taken a photo. I was really disappointed because there were only two pieces of white bun of the same type in our bread basket and they were both cold. I really had to admit that the bread basket looked like some sort of leftover bread basket by other customers. And I saw other guests having a more normal bread basket with different types of bread. So why just us?By the way, they left some olive oil and butter on your table for you to eat with the bread.

I chose one of the seemingly most expensive appetisers haha. There were around 4 slices of beef carpaccio which were reasonably tender. Together with the accompanying pickles, onion slices, pear and duck yolk gel, it was quite appetising with some differences in texture. The two small thin slices of toasts were very crispy too. Presentation-wise it was quite nice. However, the shaved parmesan seemed to be missing. Marks deducted for the missing parmesan.

Chef's Daily Pasta at $218+10%
Chef's Daily Pasta was fusilli with some beef cubes, baby spinach and carrot cubes. The portion of the fusilli was appropriate but the texture could have been more al dente. There were quite some small beef cubes which were reasonably tender. The baby spinach was very fresh and tender. The sauce was a little bit like non-spicy curry and was delicious. The pasta dish was sprinkled by some cheese powder on top to enhance flavour. Overall, I would say the pasta was a pass although it could have been better.

Daily Dessert (included in lunch set)
The daily dessert was a piece of sponge cake of those thick texture nicely decorated on a plate. Presentation-wise it was nice but flavour-wise the cake was really too average. Some crushed walnuts were added on top which did help enhance the texture and flavour a bit. But the cake itself was really too dry.

A coffee or tea was included in the lunch set. I ordered hot lemon water. There were 2 slices of lemon. The good thing here was that they gave you a pot of hot water so that there were 3 full cups of lemon water altogether.
Seating was not so comfortable because two of my lunch buddies found the seats too thin. There was sufficient room among tables though. Service-wise it was ok. When discounted by price, I was struggling to give it an OK. The bread basket was really not so acceptable while the dessert was not so pleasing. For such quality of food, they could be found in some other places in the same district but at a better price.
