We have been to 十勝豚丼 once in Tai Po. It's not heavenly yummy, but it does live up to the quality of a pork specialty restaurant. We knew this place's always crazily crowded. So we made ourself in without any second thought. Unfortunately, it did not live up to hype at all. The gyoza were not crispy. Seemed like they have been prepared a really long time ago and was tempered right after ordering. Gyoza's my all-time favorite, but this one is making me feel disappointed. The only plus side is that
The gyoza were not crispy. Seemed like they have been prepared a really long time ago and was tempered right after ordering. Gyoza's my all-time favorite, but this one is making me feel disappointed. The only plus side is that the pork filling was quite good, but a bit too the greasy side. 十勝烤薄豬扒飯 was plain bland and bad. No sight of sauce. The meat was completely devoid of fat, making it hard to chew. 朱古力芝士咖喱豬扒飯 had a fancy name but again, it did not live up to its name. It's 100% curry with nothing else. I can't taste chocolate nor cheese. This is so cheating. What's really let me down was the pork cutlet. It's really hard to mess up with pork cutlet in a Japanese restaurant coz it followed a rather robust recipe. The one I had was in serious problem though. It did not taste like pork in the first place. It's like chicken under refrigeration for days. The cutlet was again not crispy. I am really disappointed and probably will never visit this place.
