We visited Watami for dinner on a Monday night after work. I'm generally a fan of this chain, since they have a good variety of different Japanese food types, which makes it particularly suitable for group meals, where different people prefer different foods, or have dietary restrictions, and it's also fun for sharing. This particular restaurant is extra-convenient, since it's in the mall below my flat, and we barely even have to go outside to get there from home!As I said, there's a choice of
As I said, there's a choice of different cuisines, and we like to mix and match - sushi and sashmi, tempura, salad, hotpot, okonomiyaki and more. I had the cheesy mochi balls, which are little bundles of pleasure, salmon sashimi which was tender and tasty, and pumpkin and sweet potato tempura which was crunchy and well-cooked. We also shared some omelette which was soft and semi-sweet, a Caesar salad which was a nice size to share, fresh and creamy, and a good complement to the rest of the meal.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is (for a chain outlet in a mall) brightly lit and fairly spacious, although we often end up ordering so many dishes that we have trouble fitting it all on the table...
