I often get takeaway from here but this is the first time I've dined in. I like to get noodles from here because they are quick and cheap, filling the belly when you just need the job done. When dining in for afternoon tea, you get a free drink (free even for cold drinks), which is a nice deal. I got the Thin Potato Noodle in Spicy and Sour Soup ($28), adding Fatty Beef ($7), so my meal, if you do the math, is a total steal. I got the Thin Potato Noodle in Spicy and Sour Soup ($28), adding Fatty Beef ($7), so my meal, if you do the math, is a total steal.
The soup is flavourful, but as you might expect from this price, heavily msg based. The noodles are chewy as sweet potato noodles tend do be, but not to the point that it is too elastic.
It's tasty, and it's filling.
The service, well, don't come here for the service. Just give your order and shut the xxx up. The girl next to me had ordered a hot lemon water after the waitress suggested a lemon tea or coffee for her set, telling the waitress, "I don't like to drink sweet drinks", and got a loud offhand comment that "well for all hot drinks here you add your own sugar at the table" as she briskly walked away.
You also get to hear the waiters chatting loudly to each other through into the kitchen. It is very loud. It may be noisy for some but I actually enjoy the atmosphere so long as I'm not the subject or target of the shouting.
For the non-confrontational, perhaps it's better to get the take-away.
