Chimney cake tart was my all time childhood favourite which I was suddenly craving for tonight. Knowing there's an old school bakery in Sai Wan Ho selling chimney cake tart available, I decided to purposely go and enjoy. My personal way of eating it was first biting off the minicake before munching the tart. Just like the old days, minicake top was coated with a thin layer of jam. Act like a glaze but also gave some orange flavour and sweetness. Cake was usually on a harder side as this tart was stored in the fridge. Munching further to the tart, it's half on a cake side and half on a buttery tart side. Not as crumbly as a crust but harder than a cake. With a thin layer of cream and a touch of icing sugar, every bite was memorable and buttery.
With no disappointment, chimney cake tart is still my all time childhood favourite and even after years, it tasted pretty much the same and recalling the same good old memories.
