The interesting thing about the Kwun Tong area is that there are a lot of hidden restaurants and cafes located inside factory buildings. Some are pretty average. And some are hidden little treasures that blow your mind. The Brewed Vena is one wonderful little find I recently came across. Their cafe was advertised on one of the many banners that are found along the many streets of Kwun Tong. The ad looked cute and I wanted to go find it. The Brewed Vena is one wonderful little find I recently came across. Their cafe was advertised on one of the many banners that are found along the many streets of Kwun Tong. The ad looked cute and I wanted to go find it. I think it was the photo of a chocolate milk in a milk bottle. After a bit of nagging, boyfriend begrudgingly helped me.
Once you find the address of the factory, you have to figure out which building it is. It's actually the one in the middle. Once you find that, you have to figure out where the elevator is. Or like us, we ended up finding a staircase and walked up to the third floor. And as we turned the corner, there it was. It's a very spacious place with a huge outside area as well. Menu is in the form of a clipboard and is in English and Chinese. There is a decent variety of drinks but for food, it's fairly limited. You pay and order at the cashier. It is cash only. There is no 10% service charge.
Tomato Spaghetti With Shrimp ($88). We were hungry so we ordered decided to have dinner here. My original choice was baked bolognese with cheese but it was sold out when we got there. The spaghetti was a bit soggy but the shrimp was at least fresh. The sauce was a bit weak as it only tasted like a tomato with no extra bit of depth to it.
