This is actually small portions of breads/biscuits with assorted toppings. Here, we have baguette slice topped with tomato salsa; wheat sandwich toast topped with beef chunks and sprouts; and lastly a flavourful smoked salmon with carviar toast. My favourite one among the three was definitely the smoked salmon as the carviar was generously topped on a beautifully arranged piece of salmon. Together it is a savoury mouth-watering dish that opens up your appetite. The tomato canapé was also extremely refreshing, and thanks to the generous drizzle of olive oil, it has a pleasant herbal scent of olives. The beef canapé was relatively less remarkable as it consists of sautéed beef topped with bean sprouts.
Green salad

The leafy greens were rather fresh and crunch, and were chopped into a convenient size that does not require much cutting and slicing. For salad dressing, there were 3 choices, namely olive oil, vinegar and honey mustard. For health reasons I opted for olive oil and vinegar. Overall the salad has a satisfying amount of greens and is a great option for people (like me) who dislike fatty dressings.

The beef was sliced into 4 pieces and was accompanied by half of an avocado and a bunch of leafy greens. The salad was lightly dressed with a sour dressing and was similar to what I had for the green salad, with the addition of lemon peel and lemon juice; the striploin was a bit overcooked, and was a bit far from what I ordered, medium rare, yet the beef still managed to surprise me with its tenderness and juiciness.
Crème brulee

The Crème brulee was served with some fresh berries. The top layer of caramelised sugar wasn’t very thick, but provides the crunchiness and sweetness to the dessert. The custard down below was extremely rich and creamy. Every spoonful was filled with the rich aroma of the cream, thus the thought of exactly how much cream was added into this dessert makes me feel extremely guilty.
To conclude, this restaurant is defintely a hidden gem in Sheung Wan. Although its price is above average, each bite is worth for its cost. What's more, it offers healthy meals for health conscious people who have trouble not having salads at restaurants.
