Coffeelin is a really instagrammable cafe located in a tranquil neighbourhood in Happy Valley. The cafe is delicately renovated with earthy tones and high ceilings. It also has a really nice outdoor seating area which is really chill and photogenic. We came here at around 5PM on a Sunday. My boyfriend ordered their signature cocktail and I got myself a matcha latte. Both drinks were pretty delicious.
The matcha latte has a rich and fragrant matcha base. The amount of soy milk and matcha was well proportioned. The drink was pretty creamy and smooth. It was also not overly sweet so one can still taste the decent and slightly bitter aftertaste of matcha.
We also gave a try to their signature cocktail “Super Sonic”. It is a combination of gin, coffee liquor, tonic water and coffee. It tasted like an alcoholic version of espresso and tonic. The complex bitterness of the gin and tonic water complements well with the fruity coffee base. The final touch of lemon juice and zest adds refreshing fruitiness to the drink.
We also ordered their antipasti to pair up with the drinks. The stuffed peppers and prosciutto crudo were surprisingly delicious. They paired up perfectly with the well toasted sliced sour dough on the side!
