Boyfriend and I walked by, not expecting to eat here but boyfriend was intrigued. This place was small. Actually all the restaurants in this mall were super small. Think one of those clothing shops you find in Mong Gok Ginza Plaza ... that is the size of all the restaurants here including this place.From the menu, it served curry. Red, white, black, green. From the menu, it served curry. Red, white, black, green. The red, white and green curry are pretty normal types but it was the black curry that stopped my boyfriend and he needed to go in. Why? According to the server, it was actually dark chocolate curry with banana. Banana? Yes, banana.
The menu was bilingual but they had a set dinner menu that changes daily and is in Chinese. The server said to follow their Facebook page as that is where they also post their daily set menu. We ordered and shared the black and white curry with pork chop and rice set. It came with a cream of pumpkin soup and drink. All for $44. Added $2 for ice lemon tea.
Soup was as expected. Water with starch.
Black and white curry with pork chop was a huge serving size. The pork chop was fried well. Crispy on the outside. Juicy on the inside. White curry sauce was fragrant but super spicy. The black curry was too weird for me to swallow and I try a lot of bizarre things. There was a dark chocolate flavor while still being spicy. The addition of softly sauteed bananas was even more bizarre. I didn't like it.
The place was popular. And prices are quite cheap. But I doubt I'd return. It's too spicy for me.
