After a drink at The Pawn, four of us made the short walk to Locomotive. We ordered a bowl of chicken pho and beef pho along with the deep fried soft shell crab, deep fried chicken wings with honey and sweet fish sauce, steamed rice paper pork roll and some veggies. Being from Northern California, I have my share of pho. My friend and I shared the chicken pho and it was very good. As another reviewer noted, it is on the sweet side but it works. The noodles are cooked just right and the chicken is still tender. Our other friends had the beef and equally enjoyed the soup.
This was my second time enjoying the soft shell crab. I love it. My only picky comment would be that they add corn flakes into the toppings. I have no idea as it adds nothing to the dish.
The chicken wings were yummy. Slightly sweet, sticky and cooked just right. So much so that we ordered a second round.
My friend ordered a coconut red bean drink that looked really good. Next time because there will be a next time.
