When the weather gets cooler, it's always great to have a warm Chinese dessert. After dinner boyfriend and I walked by 御記糖水專門店. A small shop selling traditional Chinese desserts. It's not very big but there was a steady stream of customers.Menu is in Chinese only. Boyfriend ordered a coconut milk with purple sweet potato dessert ($22). At first we were confused as we wondered where the purple sweet potato was.
Then upon digging in, we saw they just placed purple sweet potato paste into the bowl and poured coconut milk on top. It was odd and not particularly better having you mix it yourself.
I ordered almond dessert soup with egg white ($23). It was ok. Not too sweet but had a nice taste of almond.
I had egg white and it was added in in nice large clumps and not finely distributed.
Boyfriend wanted more so he added a black sesame dessert soup ($20). I wasn't too fond of it as I felt it was too thick. Almost like a paste. it didn't have a strong sesame taste as well.
Place was very clean so I wonder if it is new? Desserts were ok but not very strong in taste. A plus is it is not overly sweet. A nice option for this if in the area but I probably can't remember where I found this place.
