I heard a lot of hype about this tiny 16-seater restaurant tucked away on a side street off Hollywood Road, and wanted to try with a friend for dinner one night. Luckily they were able to fit us in with a last minute reservation, and we sat at the bar.Kushiyaki Beco is all about celebrating the beef - beef skewers in particular - and the restaurant has a nice open kitchen where you can see the chefs grilling each skewer to order. They also have a list of "snacks", and we tried their belly pork with kimchi, which I thought was actually the best dish of the evening. They also had a special fish of the day (can't remember the name unfortunately) which is grilled to a crisp, so you can actually eat the fish bones. Very unusual, and a nice touch as the waiter/owner seemed to be very passionate about it.
Overall as I said, not cheap - because there is no "big dish", you suddenly feel like you have spent $500 per person on not a lot. But definitely worth a try for the cute izakaya atmosphere.
