The place has been around for quite a while. This is perhaps our Chinese equivalent of "上舖大牌檔", a small eatery which you can find in every neighbourhood, and serve some more "down-to-earth" versions of restaurant quality food. Grandma food? I can't tell for sure, though it is definitely a homely place where you can enjoy cheap, fresh and hearty Japanese cuisine just wearing T-shirts and slippers.I have never been there for drinks and dinner though, I am sure the place will serve these purposes
There is no shortage of choices for lunch set and people with "selection phobia" should be forewarned.
For $160 one gets sushi with uni and ikura (salmon fish roe). The sashimi is not of top quality let's be honest, but it is always fresh and never limp, and it will not be fair to compare them with those of specialised sushi places . The portion is big and the place really makes sure that every one who goes there is well fed.
