Love that the ever-expanding cafe scene in Hong Kong is slowing making its way to Central, this time I visited Loft and Scone, an online store turned cafe to try out their homemade baked goods and drinks. ☕️ 🍰 Pic 1️⃣: Earl Grey and Lychee Roll Cake - $68 hkd 🍰 — The earl grey taste is quite strong and fragrant, whilst the lychee taste is less prominent. There are small chunks of canned lychee in this but not enough in my opinion. The cake itself is soft and fluffy, and the whipped cream is smooth.

— The earl grey taste is quite strong and fragrant, whilst the lychee taste is less prominent. There are small chunks of canned lychee in this but not enough in my opinion. The cake itself is soft and fluffy, and the whipped cream is smooth. However, I personally prefer roll cakes with not as much cream because it’s simply too heavy. The roll cake is definitely on the sweeter end and might not be for everyone.
Pic 2️⃣: Tiramisu Croffle - $68 hkd 🧇
— Slightly disappointed by this, tiny portion size with the lady fingers taking up more space than the croffle! 😢 The croffle was served nice and warm, but all the sauce on top made it quite soggy and I couldn’t enjoy the crispiness and flakiness that you usually get from a croffle. The croffle had a rich buttery taste to it, but slightly too oily and dense for me. The lady fingers were a good addition but were over-soaked in coffee to a point that they were sour, overly bitter and almost inedible.
Pic 3️⃣: Sesame Oat Latte - $50 hkd
— Really enjoyed this drink! The sesame taste was strong and went really well with the nuttiness of the oat milk. I would say that the drink is quite sweet, so that’s something to bear in mind before ordering! The drink was overall quite smooth but there were some grains of sesame powder which weren’t whisked well and formed clumps nearing the end of the drink.
Pic 4️⃣: Hojicha Latte - $50 hkd 🍵
— Think they went a bit overboard with their hojicha powder for this drink, it was overly rich which made the drink seem bitter at times. The drink is quite smooth but the overall temperature could be improved as it was just lukewarm.
Overall rating:
😋Taste: food is very average, think people are usually here for nice photos
📍Ambiance: Very instagrammable, aesthetic cafe
Service: Staff saw that we were waiting outside but we weren’t informed that there were seats upstairs.
— Slightly understaffed and had to wait for a few minutes to be attended at the cashier whilst some
of the staff just talked amongst themselves.
