Sham Shui Po is one of those places that have many interesting places to eat. I always find something that peaks my interest. Be it small family owned shops that have been serving noodles for years or newer shops that serve small delicacies found no where else. Sham Shui Po is the ultimate foodie adventure.

Boyfriend, his friend and I were in the area doing some street photography when we walked by a new dessert shop. Located behind a street market selling all sorts of electronic equipment, was this very cute and pretty dessert cafe serving traditional Chinese desserts, waffles, lava cakes and drinks. This type of shop was more likely found in places like Tsim Sha Tsui or Mong Gok but I didn't expect to find it here.

The interior had a vintage look to it. There was all sorts of neat little treasures throughout the cafe. Seating was comfortable and spacious.

Interestingly the entire cafe was lined with mangas for reading.

Menu is in Chinese only but there are photos of all the desserts served. There is no 10% service charge. You pay at the cashier and only in cash.

Mango Parfait ($38). I ordered this as my dessert. It sure looked pretty. There was layers of mango slices and whipped cream. On the bottom was mango jelly. All was topped with a scoop of mango ice cream. The mango was sweet. I appreciated that the whipped cream had a slight hint of vanilla flavor instead of just bland whipped cream. The mango ice cream was creamy.

Sweet Potato Smoothie ($32). Boyfriend ordered this as he loves sweet potato. The smoothie was thick without being overly icy. It was topped with some sweet diced mango pieces. There was a slight sweet potato flavor but it wasn't strong enough.

Chocolate Lava Cake with Strawberry Ice Cream ($46). Boyfriend's friend chose this. You can choose the type of ice cream you want so strawberry was chosen. Ice cream was nice and smooth. The cake was moist and very chocolatey indeed. It wasn't sweet at all. The marshmallows were a bit disappointing as they were mini marshmallows and different than the photo on the menu. The ones on the menu were big marshmallows and toasted like you would find over a campfire. The ones actually served were mini ones that were melted into one clump.

A very pretty place to have dessert with decent sweets all around. Service was ok. Would be back.
