Grandma's friend treated our family to dinner at West Villa Restaurant earlier this month.  The venue is located on the 5th floor of Lee Garden.  West Villa moved to this location after the previous restaurant that was located in the same spot shut down.  We frequented the restaurant that occupied the location previously, so we know West Villa renovated the restaurant by changing the color theme and kept the same layout.Grandma's friend pre-set the menu for the occasion, and she booked the vip r

Grandma's friend treated our family to dinner at West Villa Restaurant earlier this month.  The venue is located on the 5th floor of Lee Garden.  West Villa moved to this location after the previous restaurant that was located in the same spot shut down.  We frequented the restaurant that occupied the location previously, so we know West Villa renovated the restaurant by changing the color theme and kept the same layout.

Grandma's friend pre-set the menu for the occasion, and she booked the vip room for the party of 11 people.  Since Auntie frequents West Villa, the service that night was very good.  The servers were very attentive, and a server stayed in the room for most of the night to distribute the dishes, and she was very attentive in changing our plates and refilling our beverages.

Auntie ordered quite a few of the restaurant's famous dishes, and she was very nice and remembered how my brother loved the stewed beef brisket the last time and ordered it again this time!

Char Siu: West Villa is notorious for their char siu, and it didn't disappoint!  The char siu was pretty lean but not tough, and it had a nice sweet slightly-charred coating.

Jelly Fish with Cucumber: The jelly fish and cucumber were both very crunchy, and the pickling liquid was neither too sour, nor too salty!  This was a very appetizing dish!

Sir Tang Shiu Kin Soup:  The Sir Tang Shiu Kin Soup is a signature item at West Villa, and the soup was very delicious!  The texture was thick and silky but not sticky, and it was very flavorful with its vast amount of ingredients!

It was stuffed to the brim with crab meat along with a small amount of onion for flavor.  They didn't add extra fillers such as potatoes.  The crab meat in the crab shell was succulent, and the filling was seasoned perfectly.

Steamed Fish Head: Auntie knows grandma loves fish head, so this is specially ordered for her.  The fish head was succuluent; the seasoning was very flavorful and got rid of the natural fishy flavor of the fish head!

West Villa made this dessert miles better!  The glutinous dumpling rolled off the leaf easily.  The glutinous part of the dumpling was chewy but didn't stick to my teeth, and the red bean filling was smooth and not too sweet.

Four Treasure Dessert: The taro and pumpkin pieces I had were coated lightly with the syrup, but the sweetness of the syrup didn't overpower the natural sweetness of the taro and pumpkin.

Mango Pomelo Sago:  The mango and pomelo in the sago were not sour, and the sago was the right texture and not mushy at all.

Thanks to grandma's friend, we had a very delicious dinner at West Villa Restaurant!  The dishes were decadent, the service was impeccable, and the decor was elegant.
