Sooo today I went with the fam to Science Park for the view and a relaxing afternoon ~ but of course we went and got food from Tom Bar and Grill since it was recommended by a friend! We got there slightly too late though and the menu switched to 下午茶 (which runs from 2:30 to 5:00 pm so keep that in mind when visiting). The first thing you'll notice when walking in is the decent decor ~ there's tables in the middle area, sofas on the side and outdoors seating too! The first thing you'll notice when walking in is the decent decor ~ there's tables in the middle area, sofas on the side and outdoors seating too! It's definitely a comfy little place - also it has a bar to the side for anyone who needs drinks. There's a killer view outside too (facing Tolo Harbor and the bike paths) so it'll be nice sitting there on an Autumn day.
So anyway we sit down and order straight away of course ~ and the menu has selections ranging from about an average of $80 to just above $100. Anddd we get the things below (which are 80 and 110 bucks respectively).
Serving time was really fast (since honestly there's no one there on a weekday) and the staff were really friendly. They did say you might have to wait 20 to 25 mins for the pizza but it didn't really take that long.
HOWEVER the first thing I have to say about it is that for the amount of food you get for your buck (or serving size)...is rather lacking? I mean for it's quite decent for 80 (you get chips/potato wedges, a small salad and pita bread) but I expected at least a larger pizza for 110 dollars... :/ Basically you'd describe it as small or mini...
Going back to the first dish ~ the filling of the pita was really flavorful and the is beef based (the meat is tender). One down side is that for some reason there's a bit too much sauce and it kinda seeped into the bread (nothing too worrying though!) Potato wedges were fantastic; crisp outside and fluffy inside. Salad's mostly there for garnish or a palate cleanser since there's no dressing really.
As for the pizza ~ it could afford to be more flavorful, but it wasn't half bad! The best thing I can say about it is the bread base/crust which doesn't feel greasy or grubby at all.
It's a nice light pizza.
If you visit though, I'd rather you go during lunch hours where apparently you get more bang for your buck (so to speak). Also as a side note ~ there's other things for sale too like coconut drinks for $42 and they seem to be doing oysters (but they're 480 something for half a dozen ;w; )...
Also spending above 200 dollars (honestly easy to do there lol) gives you 2 hours of free parking!
