Came with a girl friend for a quiet dinner on a weekday night... there were 4 or 5 tables there at 9pm, the one next to us had a couple of french-speaking chinese-looking people trying out the restaurant's wine.... I haven't tried their wine here, but judging from their looks, they seemed satisfied...We ordered a main dish each: grilled sole and mussels (although it's not the season, i didn't want to say anything to spoil dinner for my friend). We ordered a main dish each: grilled sole and mussels (although it's not the season, i didn't want to say anything to spoil dinner for my friend). The bread basket had 4 VERY crispy rolls... a bit too crispy in my opinion, can't slice/cut/tear/bite into it without crumbs flying all over the place.... the pate that came with it was OK, slighlty different than your regular beurre, but it was a little too salty.

The waitress asked what we'ld like to drink, and as usual, I insist on not paying for overpriced bottled water so we asked her for tap water, she replied with the usual "we don't serve tap water", so i kindly asked her to look in the kitchen to find a tap and pour us some water as HK tap water is perfectly potable... so came back and also very kindly pointed out that the table next to us had stilled water (but the bottle was taken away), the other table by the window also has still bottled water, and the last table had bottled water too... are you trying to make a point? If so, you're being very subtle, I didn't quite get what you were trying to say....

the food was decent, thankfully, though the sole was drenched in oil. The only word i can use to describe the food was "mediocre". Hey, at least it's not "bad". It's $218 for the sole and $198 for the mussels (which came with soggy fries and a side salad).

The manager seemed nice enough, except we probably offended him too by ordering tap water.
