Newly opened on Jervois Street in Sheung Wan, Taku is a Japanese restaurant which sells cold bento (sushi, saland), as well as hot bento (rice don). I really like this corner of the restaurant with a class little light. There is a book on whisky and a bottle of whisky at the other end of the table.

I was genuinely surprised when the rice don was served. The bamboo bento box and washi (Japanese paper) wrapping were so beautiful! I actually kept the piece of washi as a bookmark

For HKD$120, the portion of this Grilled Eel Rice is very, very generous! The piece of grilled eel was massive! Nicely grilled with sweet soy sauce, the fatty eel was very delicious and filling. Even better if the skin could be grilled to be crispy.

What’s the most amazing part about this Grilled Eel Rice Bento was that, the rice had a very delightful flavor of bamboo from the bento box! So lit!
