Last Sunday mid-afternoon went Festival Walk cinema with my wife. Went early to buy ticket and still have time to take a brunch. Time was limited thus food court was chosen, I took a seat and my wife went around to choose food and she picked 喜棧. We ordered “燒肉雞飯” and “牛腩撈麵”.Surprisingly my wife took the “燒肉雞飯” since she didn’t tried Chinese BBQ food for quite long time. Surprisingly my wife took the “燒肉雞飯” since she didn’t tried Chinese BBQ food for quite long time. Skin of 燒肉 was crispy like chips, underneath the meat was not too thin or too fat, with a small layer of fat in between and the meat also not too salty (she dislike salty food); For the chicken, can feel it’s a young chicken which the meat was still quite soft. Since there wasn’t a layer of fat under the skin, she could eat the whole part and need of tear off the skin to taste them all.
For my牛腩撈麵, first I tried a spoon of the soup and it’s quite fresh and definitely not by MSG which made you thirsty. For the 牛腩, it was well marinated with juicy texture and good taste, not like some other just like chewing a piece of gum or tissue. One point I really appreciate is that the noodle not having any “鹼水味” , since I am quite sensitive to them.
We had a full and satisfy brunch before the movie, fortunately the film was interesting enough not to make us fell asleep!
