I had always wanted to try the chain of Il bel paese hearing so many positive comments from friends. The dining area is like a part of a cozy and authentic Italian supermarket, so me and my friends looked at the cold cuts and picked some drinks up before we sat down on a nice table decked with cute Christmas decorations.
I got this blood orange soda which tasted extremely fresh and a little tangy. It was the first time I tried soda of this flavor and all I can say is I'm in love with it! Definitely pick this up when you get there!
They offer many different courses on the menu like those in Italy do, but their portions are a little bigger so I skipped the second dish of the main course. I got a spinach and cheese cannelloni, and my friends got a carbonara and a salmon pasta.
My cannelloni was fully stuffed with freshly diced spinach mixed with hot cream cheese, which was really healthy yet smooth and rich! Not to mention it was topped with my favorite mozzarella and served with fresh and tangy tomato sause. Not a dish to miss if you are a cheese or veggies lover! I tried a bit of my friends' pasta too. The carbonara tasted different from those I had before like it was less salty and had a richer taste of bacon. So don't think you are getting something conventional when you order the classic carbonara, they are introducing you to a different taste, something better!
The salmon pasta on the other side, was extremely good and went out of my expectation! When I was tasting the pasta I thought I was actually eating the salmon because the whole dish was filled and mixed with the taste of salmon goodness. The taste of salmon was so strong and rich that it is embedded in the pasta when they are cooked.
By this time I was ninty five percent full, but who can leave without getting those prettily garnished desserts displayed out there. I chose this coconut sorbet which I was attracted to by its cuteness. It is served in a real coconut bowl whattt! The sorbet was really rich and creamy too,with hints of coconut flesh mixed in. It was not as heavy as you might think, it's fresh with a strong coconut taste, defintely get this when you go there!
The whole expereince was delightful. The atmosphere was cozy and the food was scrumptious. Definitely an enjoyable experience!張貼
