Came here 1 early night wanting a bit of a late Afternoon Tea! Just realised 辣子 below mentioned a similar thing with their menu inconsistency! - In Chinese, they write that the CREAM TEA set includes Fresh Cream from Cornwall.-In English, its written as Clotted Cream from Devon.So which one is true? I didn't ask, but its surely a double whammy.... I ordered the Organic Assam Banaspaty FTGFOP-1, which is more expensive individually but can be included in the Set! I heard its a famous BLACK TE

I ordered the Organic Assam Banaspaty FTGFOP-1, which is more expensive individually but can be included in the Set! I heard its a famous BLACK TEA that's often included in Breakfast Tea Blends, but in Chinese its actually classified as a 紅茶 so its highly confusing to me - when our own Chinese Black Tea is fermented. This tea has ripened red fruit character but tastes both slightly astringent and tannicky '鞋口', due to the presence of an abundance of polyphenol chemicals (used to be classified as Tannins... but now belongs to a different subset.) This drinks better with milk added afterwards but I think this tea wasn't aromatic nor complex as a base!
The Raisin Scones were ok-good with a slight glazed top and sugar dusting, but lacked aroma and was too dense & rock like. I like Rose Petal flavoured food in diluted forms definitely and I even cook with it and with real petals, but I don't like concentrated Rose Petal Jam when its too compacted in taste and feels like eating a Crabtree & Evelyn shower gel! (I prefer Raspberry Jam).... Nevertheless I was curious and taking my biase into your 'own consideration', the Rose Petal Jam here was floral and ok-good but objectively speaking needed more strawberry jam component to balance out the sugary hit! The Clotted Cream here wasn't dense or yellowish bold enough for me, it tasted just like normal whipped fresh cream - in other words, its a bit too commercial in taste!
OVERALL - An enjoyable Afternoon Tea Set! I would say the biggest weakness here would be the Scone's quality, whereas all other things were enjoyable enough!
