Been reading very positive reviews from Open Rice, and friends about the Le Pain Grille, and always want to give it a try, since a buddy from Vancouver is in town for holiday and I also eventually having a 2 nights layover in town, I can find no excue not to visit this place..A very French or I should say Agnes B decor which is quite cozy and comfortable, staff are well trained and work quite professionally without any atttitude, all requests are being entertained promptly which I think is a go

Been reading very positive reviews from Open Rice, and friends about the Le Pain Grille, and always want to give it a try, since a buddy from Vancouver is in town for holiday and I also eventually having a 2 nights layover in town, I can find no excue not to visit this place..

A very French or I should say Agnes B decor which is quite cozy and comfortable, staff are well trained and work quite professionally without any atttitude, all requests are being entertained promptly which I think is a good start!

4 of us only me and anohter one ordered the pre-meal drinks, I had the French Ice-tea with Pineapple syrup which is made from real pineapple fruit. and my friend had a glass of House Red Wine and they even bother to bring the bottle out and serve!

Celery/Carrot Dip and Bread basket was served while we were ordering our food, and the Bread was being replenished throughout the dinner untill we asked them to stop,,,,,

Starter:

I had the Nicoise Salad which tasted good , and quite generous with the ingredients specially the Pepper Seared Tuna

all others had the Onion Soup which was simple but well made.

For the entree

Roast Duck Leg Congit, the meat was surprisingly tender and not overly salted when compare with other French restaurants...maybe they just specially cater to the palate of the local?

Lobster Omelette when my friend from Vancouver ordered this I asked if he's having a jet-lag since by the time we're having dinner it's early morning in Vancouver, there he wanteds omething sounds like breakfast.....anyway the dish realy did look like breakfast , though th ordinary, the lobster meat was full of flavour...

Slow cook Spring Chicken, the meat was cooked just right and didn't taste dry...

For me I had the Veal Cassoulet another slow cook dish the Veal cooked in a bean stew and being served in a casserole which a hearty dish

We were so full that declined their offereing of dessert and coffee, however the nut cookies they served was another delight of the dinner...

Though I am not a big fan of Agnes b, i do find this is an above average restaurant, with nice food and service. And the price is very acceptable...
