Visited here with family several months ago (all before the virus). I hesitated whether to write this review, but I think the information may help some customers to make an informed decision as to whether to visit this restaurant or not. 1. Staff was good with Caucasian customers but provided poor service to us. The restaurant was rather empty, and even our young kid could be loud sometimes I don’t believe she was loud at the time.
2. We ordered Thirteen Orphan (half) 十三幺。Out of the 7 ma jiong, 4 were put face down when the dish was served. If you have ordered this dessert, you should know, all the fun is in the outlook of this dish and perhaps taking some pictures with it. We tried to put up the face down ma jiong ourselves but they were all ruined. No pictures, no ma jiong, just extremely ordinary sweet sticky cakes. I’d like to see who would order that dish If Ming Bistro put THAT picture on OpenRice.
I have lived in HK for 10 years and fully understand sometimes people don’t want to speak mandarin. I have no problem with that. But this is the only time, I felt like the staff was hostile, and that’s the least I need when I am out with my young kid.
