Being a big cheese lover, I knew I have to pay this place a visit after seeing their cheese wheel pasta photos all over IG. Since it was my birthday, we decided to come here for a little birthday celebration. Upon entering the restaurant, I can already smell the sweet ol' cheese aroma in the air. Upon entering the restaurant, I can already smell the sweet ol' cheese aroma in the air. Menu is pretty generic like most western restaurants in Hong Kong. I don't mind that much, since I have my eyes on the Parmagiano Reggiano sphagetti as main already. The idea of having such a creamy pasta all on my own is a bit crazy, but hey it's my birthday, it's the only day my cheese obsession not get judged. Back to the food. The crab & avocado salad was refreshing. I think there is some butter lettuce in it, which enhanced the creaminess of the avocado. One thing worth highlighting is that the kitchen waited for us to finish each dish before making the next. We waited quite a while for our soups after we finished our salad, but appreciate it that my french onion soup came hot from the oven. We were taken a bit by surprise that the lamb rack came before our pasta. Regardless we started on this and it was delicious. The lamb was tender and does not have the awful gamey taste. The tomatoes and eggplants were a bit odd when paired with the lamb. Would be nice if paired with roasted potatoes. The manager noticed the lamb was served before our pasta, and he immediately came over to apologize let us know the pasta will be served very soon. Again we appreciate their attentiveness. At last, the cheese wheel cart came to our table. The chef first poured Bacardi rum liberally into the cheese wheel, and set it on fire. After the cheese had melted, in went the sphagetti and bathed in the glorious melted cheese. It did not end here. The chef scraped out chunks of cheese and added to the sphagetti. It was so rich, so creamy, and so aromatic, I wish I could eat it all but I was already full half way. This dish will be great for sharing in group meals.
Our meal was a good surprise, we were impressed with the food and service. Next time, we would like to come back during the weekend to enjoy a drink out on their outdoor patio.
