A three course express lunch was served, attentive staff, well deserved genuine compliment.For starters, we had a choice between Tomato Soup and Ratatouille Salad. For starters, we had a choice between Tomato Soup and Ratatouille Salad. I picked the soup over the salad because the salad featured some veggies that weren’t exactly my palate for a soup such as bell peppers and zucchinis.


Loved how there were deep fried basil leaves in it, melted cheese - good amount and not over empowering, presentation is simple and bold, consistency was smooth. However, I wished it tasted less salty.


Frites  House  Mussels

Ah-ha! Surprise surprise, choosing their mussels when its on their lunch set is a no brainer, as they are famous for their mussels. For HK$198, it’s very decent for lunch. Frites House Mussels as they call it, on the day they served them in a creamy champagny sauce, YUM.

Mussels were soft and buttery, aromatic and drunken in the creamy sauce, nothing to complain.
Fries were thick, hot, soft and delicious
, although the mayonnaise dipping was not really my thing.

The sourdough bread was excellent even for a non-bread lover like me, I enjoyed how it was slightly charred, served hot and very soft. When dipped into the leftover sauce of the mussels, it was just perfect.

Tiny details reflects the level of thoughtfulness a restaurant can be, they gave me an empty bowl for the mussel shells


Dark  Cherry  Carfoutis

For the dessert, there’s a choice between the dessert or a plain coffee. Dark Cherry Clafoutis, so as it was named... my first time having this dessert. I don’t particularly like the texture of the body because the texture was bouncy, not rich like a pudding or cheesecake, but like a jelly overdone with gelatin...that kind of weird bouncy. Maybe it’s just me, I don’t think I like clafoutis.
I must say though, I enjoyed the flavour of this dessert with a strong vanilla taste, combined with with maple syrup and chantilly cream, flavour was in harmony.
Cherries were good too, they are not the bright red glazed cherries but fresh cherries.


It would have been perfect if they included a small coffee or tea in the express set lunch!

Menu is simple and bold, variety is good enough for you to re-visit and not get bored.
