My second visit to M3 Italian, a popular restaurant near Shatin Wai station despite the unpopular location. M3 stands for 3 main concepts namely innovation, high-quality of services and multinational cuisines. M3 hopes to bring surprises in dining experience- they indeed positively do so. My friend and I enjoyed the savory meal and friendly services; and would definitely recommend M3 Italian especially for special occasions. The ambience is pretty romantic. No set menu on Sunday but À la carte.
Juicy grilled chicken, smoked salmon in rose shape, smooth, lightly-salted Parma ham, crispy breadcrumb, strong goat cheese, sundried tomatoes, and mixed salad. With mayonnaise, rich black vinegar and grape vinegar. Excellent but a bit pricy.
Steak Diane ($218)
The disappointing one. Served with baby asparagus and Kipfler potato. We opted for medium but turned out to be medium well with no touch of pink inside. Chewy and have very little moisture. The thinly cut steak itself was disappointing. Nevertheless the sauce, smell and potatoes were enticing. The steak sauce was with butter, mushrooms and meat stock. The elongated Kipfeler potato was with smooth internal flesh and thin skin.
Alaska crab meat risotto with tomato sauce ($168)
Tomato-based risotto with intact and fresh crab meat, topped with a piece of cheese and salad greens (specially infused with orange juice). An unforgettable gratification. Tiramisu ($56)
The elegant and rich layered Italian dessert is a great indulgence. The delicate and smooth layer of mascarpone and Italian custard are greatly contrasted with the dark and robust layer of espresso sponge cake as well as the sharp cocoa powder.
