Queen’s café represents is one of the older “soy sauce Western cuisine” restaurants, with its original store opened in 1952. As soon as you walk in, the nostalgia décor immediately takes you back a few decades, I could almost hear the legendary “Shanghai Night” song playing in my head; slow decorative celling fan disrupting the dim lighting in the dining room, giving an illusion of flickering candle lights. There is plenty of space between tables/ booths for privacy; and it was a quite night so it felt even more romantic! I loved it already as soon as I step foot in the door.
I was very happy to see that they have most of the same items from the Festi store, so we got a few familiar items for dinner. First of all their signature Borscht soup, the consistency is much thicker than I remembered, also richer in flavor; this version is not spicy at all, so I needed a little bit of white pepper, it was perfect. I would say they serve one of the best Borscht soup in Hong Kong.
