. Have known her for five years but it's the first time she celebrated her birthday with me.
Booked during the daytime, and since my girl is never on time, I had to call them again to postpone for 30 minutes. And they agreed without any hesitation. Considering how busy it get can for the night (National Holiday), this is pretty good on their part.
Finally we arrived, and gladly to find out that our reserve table is in the quiet corner of the restaurant, again very considerate on their part, and good for me since I can do some love talk just by whispering
Since I read some reviews here (thanks for the writers), I ordered some fan favorites, including the Garlic bread with Tomato Sauce, the Seafood Paella, the Lamb ribs, Seafood Platter with Rice pasta in Ink sauce. I've also ordered their special of the day, the King Prawn with Tomato Sauce, with two Sagrias. All of them tasted very fresh, and the seafood were very properly processed (no sand or bad smell). The Lamb ribs are very juicy and the lamb smell was just about right so you wouldn't either confuse this with some other meat, or be disgusted.
Overall their dish tasted very fresh and not very heavy, even with lots of tomates and spices. Maybe this is the way I like to eat seafood because that gives you the most natural taste of the food, not by adding heavy sauces.
OK, now the most juicy part, but not about the food
. In the restaurant they have two amigos playing very nice songs on their guitar, and sing very well too. They came to our desk at first but I kindly told them we would love to have them come over later, at a more appropriate time. They smiled and then went to other tables to play songs for the other customers. After we almost finished our main course, I asked the waitress if there's a dessert that we can stick a candle (stupid me for not brining a cake...), and she said there are plenty. I chose the Ware chocolate souffle and also asked her to bring those two nice amigos back to sing a song for us. After a while, they came back to our table, also with the waitress holding the plate, with a candle sticking on the ice cream (i thought it would be on the Souffle, never mind). And the two amigos asked for my girl's name and started to sing the good old Happy Birthday. I joined them as well and it was a wonderful scene, and I hope my girl would appreciate this. Later my girl also requsted the song from The God Father (forgot the name), well, not really a love song to be played in this setting but as long as my girl is happy then I am fine with it too. And they did a wonderful job playing it.
Actually the souffle is just ok, but we could not care less because overall this has been a magical night, thanks to the good food and good environment. I wanted to make it special and I am glad I did so.
