A friend who worked in the Kowloon Bay area noticed a new restaurant. She was curious so we decided to give it a try. Called The Glass, it's located in the Kingston International Centre. Menu is in English only and what they serve is modern Italian. The waitress informed us that serving size was enough to share between us so that is what we did. We shared everything.

We started with drinks while we waited. I had the Lips of an Angel ($98, on the left) and my friend had an Avocado Matcha Milkshake ($78, on the right). The Lips of an Angel was a blend of rose gomme syrup, white peach puree, citrus and apple juice. A touch of soda was added for carbonation but not too much that it over powered everything. I liked this drink. Reminded me of a nonalcoholic Bellini which is my favorite Italian cocktail. The avocado matcha smoothie had a hint of matcha and was very thick and creamy.

A bread basket of focaccia and crisp flat bread was provided. It's serve with olive oil balsamic vinegar, but I suggest eating it a real Italian. Save it to mop the sauce. The focaccia was dotted with olives which I love. Tearable and fragrant is why this is my favorite Italian bread. The crisp flat bread was thin and light.

We started with an antipasta of Sauteed Clams ($268). Small French clams were used which were extremely umami. Cooked in a rich tomato sauce, this is why you save the bread. The sauce was excellent and was the best thing in the entire plate.

For the Primi we chose a  Wild Mushroom Risotto Porcini ($288). Decorated with edible flowers, it looked a forest floor. Parmesan cheese was generously shaved on top. The risotto was al dente. Bits of dried porcini and fresh porcini was used, giving an interest contrast to not only flavour but texture. The dried porcini had a much stronger flavour. But the fresh ones had a lovely spongy texture.

The Secondi was Double Lamb Chop ($368). It was served with a rosemary sauce and mint sauce. The lamb chops were sous vide and then seared, so it literally melted in your mouth. It was that tender and not over cooked. Well seasoned so you don't even need the sauce.

We ended with Dolci, This is a Classic Tiramisu ($128). Or so we thought. It was a lot more creamier and much more rich. A good amount of espresso balanced by a wonderful hit of rum. There was a layer of pistachio to give it a bit of nuttiness. Topped with cocao and gold flakes, it was definitely pretty to look at. This was a fantastic tiramisu.

Service was very friendly and efficient. Food was well presented and seasoned perfectly. A spot I wouldn't have thought to come if not for my friend who wanted to give this a try. A nice place for date night. Will have to mention it to boyfriend next time.
