Thanks to the Taste of Hong Kong, Watermelon cakes are even more popular and there is more than one branch of Lifetastic.Although there are branches in CWB and TST, I decided to go to one in Shek Tong Tsui where it all started. It is conveniently located outside HKU station.
As well as the watermelon cake, they have introduced others in the range such as Strawberry, Pandan etc.
In a way, I am glad I didn't try it until now as they have so much to offer including drinks.
Started with the Chocolate Tea which was amazing because there was a strong cocoa aroma, I always order this whenever I come across it. I also had the French Chocolate Earl Grey which is another good pairing.
It was simply divine so I recommend it if you like chocolate and Earl Grey. The watermelon cake is obviously the star here but we were here in the evening so had some wings and salad to satisfy our hunger.
The wings were not that Thai style as the menu described but it was still good. The salad was light with lots of apples and raisins just like Waldorf but without the walnuts.
The slice of watermelon cake was much bigger than anticipated.
It was sweet and aromatic with floral notes of rose and crisp crunches of watermelon.
Now that I have tried the Watermelon cake, I plan to try the strawberry or pandan but they have different cakes at different branches or you can even find Lifetastic at the Tong Chong Street Market.
