Walked past the storefront this morning and very pleasantly surprised by the floral display outside 糖百府 on HK Island! read so many reviews about it for the past month. it's My first 雪花冰!! 1. Green tea 雪花 base slightly sweet, subtle green tea flavors (from ground green tea leaves I suppose?), the texture is so indescribably interesting - I would say it's a mix between shaved ice (the japanese kind with colorful syrups) and dairy ice cream. The ice is really fine though (not chunky which would taste more ice-y than creamy), not like freezer burn as I imagined
+ brown sugar sauce: thought green tea and brown sugar would be a good combination. the brown sugar has quite a rich sweetness to it, as expected - brown sugar always tastes more overwhelming (i guess from the cane sap?)
+ tapioca pearls: nice and chewy!
+ ai yu jelly (search it on wikipedia; it's a taiwanese specialty): it's just like jello, but i would say it is slightly chewier. i would recommend it!
Sweeeet! great hang out spot, dig the variety of creations and freedom of choice, OK comfortable seating - a good alternative to frozen yogurt shops/ice cream parlors!
