Miso in Central is one of my favourite Japanese restaurants, so when I found out they opened one in Harbour City, I was thrilled.Unfortunately, as soon as I sat down, it didn't feel right:1. The seating were very uncomfortable. Tables were too small and the height of the chairs / sofa were just not right. I kept knocking my knees on the table.2. The menu's a little different to the one in Central, seemed pricier, I don't remember having to pay $10 per person for green tea in Central.3. Servic
Unfortunately, as soon as I sat down, it didn't feel right:
1. The seating were very uncomfortable. Tables were too small and the height of the chairs / sofa were just not right. I kept knocking my knees on the table.
2. The menu's a little different to the one in Central, seemed pricier, I don't remember having to pay $10 per person for green tea in Central.
3. Service was slow and unattentive, we had to wait 10mins just for tea (after we asked them again), and more than 30mins for food. Everytime we needed refill for the tea, we had to ask for it, and when they finally came to refill, the guy started dripping tea all over my jeans.
4. When the food was finally served, it was funny to see that the tray for my set dinner was actually bigger than the table. So I had 1/3 of my dinner hanging outside one end of the table.
5. My wife ordered the deluxe sashimi, which was quite nice. I ordered the butterfly set, and it also tasted quite good except for the hot portion (beef), which was cold, it must have been sitting in the kitchen for a while before it was brought to us.
6. Food portion seemed smaller than those at the Central Miso.
7. They brought my bill in an American Express bill holder, but when I gave them my Amex, they told me they don't accept Amex. Pretty funny I thought.
I'm sure Maxims spent a lot of money decorating this place because it looks quite nice, but I really think they should re-do the seating because I spent all night trying to find a comfortable sitting position but couldn't manage to find one. I won't come back to this Miso, but I'll definitely go back to the one in Central.
