Once government has started to relax on the dining requirements, my parents have been pestering me to dine out tomorrow. One of my friends told me that there is a nice steamboat restaurant located at Prince Edward, thus I decided to give it a try. Flaming Pot was located at Fa Yuen Street, along that stretch of bar street near Prince Edward MTR. The restaurant was very spacious, with 2 VIP rooms catered to group gathering. The restaurant was very spacious, with 2 VIP rooms catered to group gathering. They are running a promotion right now, with 30% discount for all items except seafood and drinks. They have a wide selection of steamboat soup, over 10 choices. Besides that, they served sashimi, seafood, handmade balls, meat, vegetables and drinks etc.
Tom yum goong seafood hotpot soup – It was served in a gigantic pot, enough to serve several people. There were a lot of ingredients in it such as prawn, crab, mushroom, clams and squid etc. Soup was flavourful and sour in taste, not very spicy. Seafood were fresh and juicy, absorbing the essence of the tom yum goong.
Sashimi platter – It was presented nicely, with sweet shrimp, scallop, squid, clams and octopus sashimi in it. All of them were fresh in taste, able to taste the sweetness and chewiness in it.
Fried bean roll – It was very soft and smooth, flavourful as it absorbed the essence of the soup.
Slice eel – It was very fresh, sliced till thin in texture. It was very soft and smooth, melting in my mouth.
Handmade prawn ball – It was very chewy and juicy, with prawn meat in it.
Octopus paste with crab roe – It was chewy and fresh as well, with octopus meat in it.
Shin ramen – Ramen was cooked till chewy and flavourful, as it absorbed the essence of the soup.
Snow pear drink – As we ate a lot of seafood and heaty food, snow pear drink help to cool down and was cooling and refreshing.
