Nagomiya is located just one minute away from the Causeway Bay station. I picked this izakaya because it has all of my favorite Japanese dishes!おでん OdenAs their signature menu, the oden was nicely simmered. The dashi broth was clean and light. The 大根 daikon $15 and 厚揚げ fried tofu $23 have soaked up all the dashi flavor. The 牛すじ $35 beef tendon was not what I imagined though. I thought it would be a stick with small pieces but turned out it was chunks of beef briskets which were not so tender.鶏わさ

鶏わさ Chicken Sashimi $49
Seems not easy to find a place for torisashi in Hong Kong, and it's available at Nagomiya! They slightly blanched the chicken breast and the inside remained pink and raw. Very soft. Matched well with the pungent wasabi.
鶏の唐揚げ Deep-fried Chicken $59
Different than other karaage, they did not put much batter. They only used chicken leg meat which I loved because of the smooth texture and higher fat content. The chicken was marinated well and fried perfectly, super hot and juicy!
ニラたま Fried Eggs with Chinese Chives $49
Was expecting runny scrambled eggs but it was more like an overcooked egg cake.
もつ鍋豚骨風 Beef Offal Pot, T
onkotsu Style $69
How could this be soooo cheap?! It had like 6 pieces of beef offal, cabbage and Chinese chives, bean sprouts cooked in a delicious pork bone based soup. They also had an option of adding $33 for a portion of ramen but I was already too full so I simply finished the whole pot of soup with tons of melted beef oil essence.
Multilingual and attentive staff. Cheap prices, amazing food. If you're a Japan lover, this is a must-go!
