Since i was going to have a buffet dinner that night, i planned to have a smaller lunch, but i found out the molten chocolate cake looks fab so i tasted it as well.
For the mocha praline, it was not the first time i tried this year. But for this branch, the coffee served lope warm rather than hot as other did. However, it tasted more or less the same. It did have a strong taste of both chocolate and hazelnut, as well as coffee. Also, the coffee was great with the whipped which enhanced both the flavour and the sweetness. Its sweetness was well controlled, unliked green tea latte. It will be better if it was hot. P.s. Plz add an extra shot if u look for a stronger coffee taste.
For the roasted duck wrap, it seems to be something new and i havent seen it before. It was served hot, the tortilla was crispy outaide and a little bit chewy inside which fits my liking. For the staff inside, it contained half portion of both cucumber and peking duck. The cucumber were really fresh and crunchy as a good cucumber ought to be. And for the peking duck, the meat was a little bit chewy and hard, but the sauce tasted fab and not overpowering. Overall the wrap was great and refreshing, also quite healthy for a big amount of cucumber. Amazing.
For the molten chocolate cake, it was served beautifully with berry sauce in the centre of the top with the icing sugar around the edge. However, the interior was a little vut disappointing. The centre of the cake was soft and moist but there was no chocolate sauce came out. Also, only part of the cale was warmed well, and part of it was even cold. I did think it was the problem with the staff there but not the cake. However, the sweetness of the cake was just right and there was a strong favour of chocolate. Not bad.
I also bought a bottle of water since i needed to take some pills. No comment for water but a bit pricy in my opinion.
Overall, the fall and christmas collection was quite good, almost the best throughout the year. Lookong forward to the turkish bread and cranberry scone/ cheesecake soon.
However, the service here was not as good as other branches. This was the worst starbucks service i have ever tried. Also, the staff were not helpful and they did piss off some of the customer , including me. They expected the customer to order the food with the exact same name the food should be. Isnt it funny to expect it!?
